Ruth graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2016. She is passionate about massage therapy and helping people. Ruth’s experience is extensive and includes treating individuals with back pain, jaw pain including temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD), and tingling and numbness in the hands. Dr. Nicole McCurbin was born and raised in Whitby, Ontario. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a concentration in Athletic Performance and Injury Management at Wilfrid Laurier University and also pursued a double minor in Biology and Criminology. She has completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating cum laude.

Growing up, Dr. McCurbin participated in various sports, including rep hockey, golf, soccer, skiing, and lacrosse. This firsthand experience in sports and performance has greatly enriched her treatments and exercise prescriptions during appointments. She enjoys treating a diverse range of patients, having successfully managed conditions such as sport injuries, chronic pain, acute injuries, vestibular issues, and nerve/disc injuries.

Dr. McCurbin adheres to an evidence-based approach to care that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and values. Her certification in acupuncture adds an additional layer to her hands-on treatments, which may also include soft tissue therapy, joint mobilization/manipulation, cupping therapy, and shockwave therapy, depending on her patient’s specific needs.

I am a passionate and dedicated Physiotherapist, Clinic Manager, and Level 3 Certified Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from India and a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Durham College. I am proud to be part of the team at Whitby Physiotherapy and Sports Rehab, where we are committed to helping patients restore mobility, independence, and confidence.

My treatment style is hands-on and education-driven, with a focus on building strong, sustainable foundations through exercise and movement. I have extensive experience treating orthopedic conditions and pelvic floor dysfunctions, and I enjoy working with individuals of all age groups and backgrounds.
